A Life-Changing Moment
A few years ago, Hennie experienced a pivotal moment that laid the foundation for Eagles View Wellness Centre. An international family grappling with addiction stayed at Hennie’s guesthouse in South Africa. The father and his addicted child spent six months there during the child’s outpatient recovery program. Unlike the rehab centres in their home country, they found Hennie’s place exceptionally peaceful and supportive. This observation sparked an idea in Hennie—why not create a dedicated rehab centre in such a serene environment?
A Seed of Inspiration – Rehabilitation Clinic
Witnessing the family’s struggle and eventual recovery planted a seed in Hennie’s heart. He was inspired to make a meaningful difference and envisioned transforming his guesthouse into a sanctuary for healing. Hennie dreamed of a place where individuals could not only overcome addiction but also thrive in every aspect of their lives.
The Eagle Metaphor: Guiding Principles of Recovery
Drawing inspiration from eagles—known for their strength, resilience, and keen vision—Hennie crafted a guiding principle for recovery. Eagles fly alone or with their kind, symbolizing the journey of recovery. This inspired Hennie to find like-minded individuals to share his dream. Our rehabilitation clinic stands apart as a truly unique facility.
Finding a Kindred Spirit: Marius Swart
Hennie’s journey led him to Marius Swart, a former foreign exchange dealer and broker, who had faced his own battles with addiction. Marius grew up in an environment where alcohol was prevalent. Despite his struggles, he made the courageous decision to seek help and has been clean and sober for decades. With a deep understanding of addiction and recovery, Marius dreamed of creating an upmarket rehabilitation centre that provided comprehensive care.

When Hennie and Marius met, their shared vision for holistic recovery resonated deeply. They combined Marius’s expertise in addiction recovery with Hennie’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment. Together, they embarked on a mission to create Eagles View Wellness Centre—a beacon of hope and healing. They surrounded themselves with like-minded professionals who share their vision of providing compassionate and alternative care to those in need.
